Nothing To Do And All Day To Do It
Eighty-six rooms on a limestone headland, a cove you reach by lift, and a kitchen with one star and no dress code.
Built By One Family, Run By Two Hundred
Michel and Ana Roux bought the headland in 1991 with no road to it and no water on it. The first nine rooms opened two summers later, and the terraces have been going down towards the sea one at a time ever since.
It is still theirs. Their daughter runs the restaurants, the original stonemason’s son still does the walls, and about a third of the staff have been here more than a decade — which is the whole reason the place feels the way it does.
Three Reasons, Told Plainly
Arrive Without Planning
Tell the concierge one thing you like and the week arranges itself — tables, boats, drivers, a barber at eight if you need one.
The Concierge DeskEat Where It Was Caught
Four kitchens, one coastline, and a chef who writes the menu after the boats land rather than before.

Every room faces the sea. Nothing faces the road, and the road is the only thing you will not hear.

A cellist on the rock at sunset, a truffle hunt in November, a proposal on the lighthouse jetty. Ask and somebody will tell you honestly whether it can be done.
