The header menu is an ordinary WordPress menu, and one of its items can open the mega menu you lay out yourself.
Appearance → Menus · Mega Menus
The menu is built, not fixed. Build it under Appearance → Menus like any WordPress menu, assign it to the Primary Menu location (the Mobile Menu location takes the same menu, or a shorter one), and every page you publish is one drag away from your visitors.
The mega menu
A menu item can open a whole panel instead of a dropdown. The panel is a Mega Menu — a post of its own under Mega Menus in the admin menu, laid out in the page builder with three elements from the Sigma Header group:
| Element | What it draws |
|---|---|
| Mega Menu Navigation | One column: a heading with an optional icon over a WordPress menu you pick from Appearance → Menus. An item's Description becomes the small tag beside its label (“New”, “Popular”); an icon class in its CSS Classes field (fas fa-pizza-slice) draws an icon before it. |
| Mega Menu Promotion | The panel beside the columns. It shows a promo booked into the Mega menu panel placement while one runs — see Promotions — and otherwise its own image, heading, text and button. |
| Mega Menu Footer | The line under the columns: a short message with an icon, and a menu of links on the right — the legal pages, usually. |
Lay them out in one row — the promotion at a third of the width, the columns at a sixth each — with the footer in a row of its own. The demo's Pages panel is built exactly that way, from five menus named Mega Menu Home Pages, Restaurants, Cuisines, Company and Legal, so open it in the builder to see a working example.
Opening it from the menu
- Under Appearance → Menus, add the item that should open the panel — a custom link to
#is the usual choice — and expand it. - Tick Activate Mega Menu and choose the mega menu it opens.
- Save the menu. On a wide screen the panel opens on hover or keyboard focus; in the mobile drawer the item's arrow opens it.
A link typed as a path — /restaurants/?sort=rating — stays on your site wherever
it is installed, so a menu built on a staging site keeps working when the site moves.
