Ten Weeks Of A Coat

From the cloth arriving to the last press.

A face upside down in warm light

A made-to-order coat takes ten working weeks from the day it is ordered: two for the cloth, two in the queue and six on the tables.

Weeks One And Two: The Cloth

The double-face wool is ordered from Biella the day the deposit is paid; it is woven to length and arrives in two weeks.

We cut once, for one person, and the date we give is the date it leaves.

Ordered the car coat in September and the date held to the day. Lovely to read how it was made.

Does the queue ever get longer before the shows?
