The suite sits at the western end of the third terrace, where the building stops and the rock takes over. Two walls of glazing fold back into the stone so the sitting room and the terrace become one space, and on a still evening the only sound is the water forty metres below.

Inside it is deliberately plain — lime plaster, oiled oak, one long linen sofa and a writing desk that faces the wrong way on purpose, so you look out rather than down. The bath stands free in the corner of the bathroom with nothing in front of it but horizon.

Rates are per room per night for two guests and include breakfast. A third guest is $60 a night. The resort fee is $38 a room a night and tax is 11 per cent — both are already in the total shown in the panel opposite. Stay four nights or more arriving between 1 October and 20 December and the cheapest night comes off.

House Policies

Check-In
From 15:00. Arrive earlier and the concierge will hold your luggage and open the spa to you.
Check-Out
By 11:00. A late check-out until 18:00 is half the nightly rate, subject to the day’s arrivals.
Cancellation
Free until 48 hours before arrival. Inside that window the first night is charged.
Deposit
Thirty per cent on confirmation, the balance on departure. Cards and bank transfer accepted.
Children
Welcome at any age. Cots are free; a rollaway bed for an older child is $90 a night.
Pets
One dog under 15 kg by arrangement, $45 a night, not in the restaurants.
Smoking
Nowhere indoors. The terrace is yours.
